Hello!! My name is Mrs. Gamboa, I am your child's 6th or 7th Grade Art or Design teacher. I have been teaching at Chavez Middle School for 5 years. Below you will find a little information about myself and my education as well as some information about our program here at Chavez!
My educational career has been quite extensive, I like to consider myself a life long learner, inside about outside of the classroom. I graduated from Victor Valley High School in Victorville. I then attended Cal State San Bernardino where I graduated with two Bachelors Degrees in Graphic Design and Photography in 2008. I went back for my Masters in Education, Digital Teaching and Learning at Azusa Pacific University where I graduated in 2014. I am currently still attending APU and am in my last year of my Masters of Fine Arts program.
Outside of school I am a Mother to a 3rd grader and Step-Mom to a 20 year old. I am photographer, and a handmade maker in addition to the art that I make as a student. I have 2 cats, which the students loved! Their names are Sprinkles and Cupcake.

Teaching for Artistic Behavior
What is TAB?
In my classroom your student will experience a way of learning that may be very different from their other classes, in my classroom we are considered a TAB classroom. TAB stands for Teaching for Artistic Behavior which means students are expected to do the work of artists, directing their own learning. They practice coming up with their own art problems to solve, asking questions and seeing possibilities in the world around them. Students learn to persevere through difficulties as well as to trust themselves and their own judgment while simultaneously learning to be self-directed, organized, and to manage their time.
